Art Lessons

Being on boat the Peccadillo Barge is a perfect way to capture inspiring scenery – from the high rise flats at Possil to the rambling woods at Cadder, you truly get a sense of the City and how close it is to the countryside.  Allowing you sketch away at leisure or paint until your hearts content on the Forth & Clyde Canal.

So why not get in touch about hiring the Peccadillo for your local art club? Teas/coffees on board to keep you cosy – but even better if the sun is shining you can get out on deck or we can pull in and you can paint the Peccadillo!

Here are some beautiful Peccadillo artworks by the very talented Sunshine Jo!

Photography

You don’t have to have a fancy camera to join our Peccadillo photography workshop even mobile phone cameras can deliver top notch photos if you know how.

The winter will find us at our home mooring in Glasgow but once the season begins we could be anywhere on the Scottish Lowland Canals between Glasgow, Falkirk, Grangemouth and Bowling!

So why not book out the Peccadillo Barge for a full day of photography, getting a unique viewpoint from the canal boat, looking out for local wildlife as we go.

Argy Bargy

We are very excited to announce that the Peccadillo will be hosting regular live music events on board!

Establishing ourselves as a unique micro venue we offer a cosy intimate spot for musicians, singers and storytellers alike to come along and not only perform but get to know people at the same time.

The only restriction is size, we offer electricity and fantastic acoustics – play as much as you like and BYOB if you so wish but we offer teas and coffees on board for a small donation.  All gigs are a pass the hat around kind of affair! For more information…  Continue reading “Argy Bargy”

Water Story

The Peccadillo has held host to a variety of writing workshops!

We currently hold monthly ‘Water Story’ trips on board inviting you to a sip coffee/tea and a wee cake (made by our delightful Cathy) as we sail along and let your pen find its way across the page in any way it will.

These trial trips in association with Maggie’s centre and Lapidus are an exploration of possible regular writing days on the canal.  Writing prompts and guides will be supplied by your facilitating captain but what you write and what you share is entirely up to you.
