Glasgow’s only commercial day trip boat on the Forth & Clyde Canal
Bring the family for a grand day out on Peccadillo Barge. Glide over the rooftops of Glasgow and on through Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch, Twechar, Auchinstarry, and Bonnybridge towards Falkirk , and of course, the Falkirk Wheel. At a speed limit of 4 knots, the sail from Glasgow to Falkirk takes you 7 hours – you’ll see so much more than you would on a train journey that covers the same distance in 20 minutes! If you have any questions or cannot see a trip listed that suits your specifications please do get in touch via out contact us page – we have done many bespoke trips for an hour or a day, for families, groups and organisations.
Peccadillo is a custom built (1994) canal barge. Berthed in Glasgow, Scotland. Her unusual dimensions of 9′ 6″ beam, 50′ length and 2′ draft were specifically designed for the Scottish Lowland Canals (by Nick Millar and Minty Donald) and she can easily travel between Glasgow, Grangemouth, Bowling and Edinburgh.
As the only boat offering commercial day trips on the Lowland canals, we have hosted trips between Glasgow and Falkirk since 2004 and we’re proud to have been a part of many a family celebration, as well as hosting and taking part in a wide variety of canal events. Most of our routes focus on the Glasgow area though occasionally we venture east to the Falkirk Wheel, the Kelpies and the stunning Falkirk Tunnel.
Our cabin is surprisingly roomy and very homely, and Peccadillo is yours for the day. Whatever the weather you’ll find a comfy corner from which to enjoy the view, and the galley is well kitted out with grill and hob, cutlery, crockery and condiments if you want to bring your own lunch aboard.
Dogs are welcome!
Maximum 12 passengers
Get the whole family along (up to 12 passengers) for a full day of sailing with lunch in a pub (not included), crewing the barge through locks or up the Falkirk Wheel. All trips are piloted by a qualified skipper and teas/coffees and homemade cake supplied. You are welcome to use the catering facilities on board if you would rather prepare your own lunch or even moor up for a barbecue.
